Noise isolation and acoustics are critical to achieving a broadcast-quality sound. This is why we continually invest in our space as well as our equipment. Our newest home studio is a dedicated 5×8 basement room built against two foundation walls and lined with 5 mattresses to deaden the space. The control booth is outside the room with Dad at the controls able to communicate into the kids headphones via a talkback system.
The Sennheiser MKH 416 microphone is one of the most popular choices for professional voice actors and is a standard for film and television production. It’s RF condenser results in extremely low self-noise and a very wide frequency response to pick up the entire range of the kids’ voices with a relatively flat response. The original MKH story is a fantastic read for audiophiles.
Our studio is hard-wired into a fiber optic network which enables bandwidth speeds of 1 gigabit (1000 megabits per second). That’s blazing fast and able to accommodate the highest quality settings for source-connect sessions, zoom calls, and any other type of remote directed session.
